    Waiting for the Perfect Moment

We have all been there. You have a brilliant idea for your brand or creative project. You can see the direction clearly in your mind’s eye, and you know it has potential. Yet, when the moment arrives to actually take the leap and put it out into the world, you suddenly find yourself making a fourth cup of tea and deciding that the skirting boards really need a thorough dusting.

If left entirely to my own devices, I could quite happily spend a fortnight researching the optimal typeface for a heading rather than actually launching the project.

Taking a leap of faith with a new idea is daunting. We often wait for the ‘perfect moment’ or a sudden burst of natural motivation to get us moving. But the reality is that sometimes, a leap of faith does not happen organically. It requires a bit of external momentum. A gentle nudge. Or, quite frankly, a shove.

    When the Clutch Gets Stuck

For neurodivergent creatives, this gap between conception and execution can feel particularly wide. We often battle with analysis paralysis or executive dysfunction, which can trap us in the planning phase indefinitely. The internal engine is revving, the ideas are brilliant, but the clutch is stuck. We want everything to be perfectly mapped out before we take a single step.

This is where external encouragement becomes a vital tool rather than just a nice-to-have. Sometimes that ‘shove’ comes in the form of a manufactured sense of urgency—after all, nothing quite focuses the mind like the sheer, unadulterated panic of a looming deadline.

The Power of an External Perspective

However, a much healthier and far less stressful alternative is a friendly shove in the right direction from someone else. An external perspective can help cut through the internal noise. They can look at your chaotic web of ideas, help you pull out the single thread that matters, and provide the accountability required to finally press ‘go’. It is not about someone doing the work for you; it is about having someone stand next to you at the edge of the diving board, politely reminding you that you do actually know how to swim.

Sometimes, we just need permission to take the risk. Other times, we need someone to kindly, but firmly, tell us to get on with it.

    Taking the Leap

If you are currently standing on the edge of a creative leap, wrestling with a new brand direction, or simply stuck in the planning phase, you do not have to navigate the jump alone. Providing that structured encouragement, clarity, and the occasional friendly push is exactly what I do.

If you think you could benefit from a bit of a shove in the right direction, let’s have a chat. You can find out more about how we can work together.
